Participant
Registration transfers (limited)
Evorto can create a code for giving an eligible event registration to another person, but the current transfer journey is incomplete. Do not treat it as a dependable way to exchange a paid place.
Paid claims are not a complete workflow
The recipient can enter a transfer code, but the current paid claim screen does not provide a working way to finish the required payment. Until that is repaired, contact your section before relying on a paid transfer.
When the transfer option appears
The participant-facing Send event action is currently part of the paid registration experience. It is offered only when all of these conditions are met:
- The section or event allows registration transfers.
- The registration is successful.
- The participant has not been checked in.
- The transfer deadline has not passed.
- The registration has no additional guests.
If the action is unavailable, the event page explains the blocking condition. Free online registrations use the separate Give up spot cancellation path and do not expose this transfer action; see Manage your registration for its eligibility checks.
What a transfer code does
An eligible participant can create one of two codes:
- A private code is intended to be shared directly with a specific person.
- A public code can be shown to other users looking for an available place.
Creating a code does not transfer the registration by itself. The original registration remains involved until another person successfully claims the code and completes the required process.
Known limitations
Registrations with guests cannot be transferred
If a registration includes one or more additional guests, Evorto blocks code creation with the explanation Registrations with additional guests cannot be transferred. The participant must use another option offered by the event or contact the section.
A paid claim cannot currently be completed
The claim screen recognizes a code and can display the event and available price, but its payment completion path is unfinished. This means the documented success outcome for a paid handover cannot be verified end to end.
A code is not proof of a completed transfer
Do not assume the place has changed hands just because a code exists or has been shared. Confirm the registration status in Evorto.
What to do instead
- Ask the section or event team whether they want to handle the change manually.
- Do not send money directly to another participant based only on a transfer code.
- If money has already changed hands, contact the communication email shown by your section and include the event and code details.
- Check the original registration until the section confirms the outcome.
The preserved claim-page reference is available at Claim a registration transfer, but it describes the same incomplete flow.
